On 16 & 17 October 2015, the first Mytholmroyd Open exhibition will feature work by artists from Calderdale and further afield. It will be held at St Michaels Church Hall in Mytholmroyd, West Yorkshire as part of the first Mytholmroyd Arts Festival. The work on show will have been selected for exhibition by a judges panel, made up of local artists Stella Mays, winner of the 2011 BBC wildlife artist of the year award, Kate Lycett, and Francis Charleton.
Friday 16th October, 6pm – 9pm (welcoming speeches at 6.30)
Saturday 17th October, 10am – 4pm (prizes announced at 3pm)
At 3pm on Saturday 17 October, the judges will announce their winner, who will be awarded the Thomson Reuters prize of £500. There will also be a prize for the People’s Winner, judged by a People’s Vote during the exhibition.
Also announced at 3pm on Saturday 17 October will be the overall winner of the Schools Art Competition, chosen by a People’s Vote. 15 pieces of work selected by the judges from the Schools Art Competition, will be shown at the Mytholmroyd Open, and the public will get the chance to vote for their favourite.
