Saturday 15th October 10:00-16:00 (announcement of prizes at 15.00)

An exhibition of work by students from local schools on the theme of the elements.

Children from Scout Road Academy and Calder High School have participated in workshops and worked independently to create work for Mytholmroyd Arts Festival’s second Schools’ Art Exhibition. Burnley Road School has unfortunately not been able to participate this year because of their recent relocation back into their own building following flood repair work.  However, we are delighted to have collaborated for the first time with The Ark Nursery to present a special display of art from Mytholmroyd’s future artists.  All the work is inspired by the Festival theme of the elements.

Once again, we have an illustrious panel of judges who will be awarding prizes, kindly donated by Thomson Reuters, for the top three pieces from each Key Stage.  There will also be a People’s Vote. On Friday evening and Saturday up until 14:00, visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote for their favourite work.  Pick up your voting slip from the exhibition reception desk and make your selection. The winners in all categories will be announced at 15:00 on Saturday 15th October.

The People’s Vote winner will have their work professionally framed courtesy of Abacus Picture Framing.
